Help TOS support Texas State Parks! As you may know, the Texas state park system has been dramatically defunded. In order to show support for public land stewardship in the state, TOS will hold or participate in bird walks in parks and Natural Areas all over the state over the next months.

Attending these walks will (1) show support for the parks, (2) put funds into the coffers at each location, (3) and allow birders (and other interested parties - bring a friend or two or three) a chance to explore these special Texas places.

You can also host a walk yourself at your area park; just contact your TOS Regional Director.

On December 10, our group will meet at the large conference building on the shore of Lake Raven at 8 a.m. The walk will go until noon as we enjoy the Piney Woods in winter.

I hope you will join TOS and support your State Parks System. If we don't use the parks, they may not be there in the years to come.
