Meeting Speaker Tickets

TOS is proud to welcome two inspiring speakers at our spring meeting. These presentations are included in the event registration fee, and take place at the Hilton Garden Inn.  If you are not attending the four-day meeting, the speaker tickets may be purchased separately.  They are $15 per person per night, and you can register HERE for one or both evenings.

On Friday evening, May 5, 2023, local rancher Anita Hoskins will give a presentation called Grassland Bird Conservation in a Dynamic and Diverse State addressing questions associated with the needs of Texas birds and critical ecosystems with particular emphasis on grassland songbirds.  Anita is Senior Coordinator of Private Lands overseeing the Southern Great Plains Region with Audubon Texas. She is experienced in helping landowners of all backgrounds find conservation solutions and is passionate about bridging the gap between agriculture and grassland bird conservation.

Our keynote speaker on Saturday evening, May 6, is Laura Keene, an avid birder and photographer who resides in Mico, Texas. Laura is chair of the ABA Recording Standards and Ethics Committee, former photo editor of The Ohio Cardinal, and her wildlife photography has been published in multiple outlets. She will speak on her photographic big year.
