Return to Panama in 2024

This trip is now full. We have activated the wait list online if you would like to add your name. No payment is required to be on the wait list.

TOS will again conduct a birding trip for its members to Panama with leader Susan Foster.  The dates are August 26 - September 4, 2024.

Many of you expressed an interest in going last time but weren't able to fit it into your schedules.  We hope you'll be able to join us by registering for this third annual event.

Our group will be accompanied each day by Canopy Family resident birding expert Carlos Bethancourt or another resident expert birding guide provided by Canopy Family. As our trip description says, the birding is great, people are friendly, the country is safe, infrastructure is good, food is excellent, driving distances are short, and currency is based on the US dollar. International travelers can safely and confidently drink the water as well.

Enjoy coffee each morning on the upper deck of the Canopy Tower watching neotropical migrant warblers and tropical resident species in treetops, and the monkeys coming to visit the fruit feeders placed for the tanagers, orioles and other frugivores. Then head out on a daily adventure to pump up your life list and mingle with some of the nicest folks -- your fellow TOS members!

This trip will be priced at $3,595 double-occupancy, and for non-members it is $3,630 which includes a one-year membership. There is an additional $600 single occupancy option. Remember, the availability of single rooms is limited.

Full payment may be made immediately, or a $900 deposit ($935 for non-members) can hold your place, with the balance due by June 19, 2024. This deposit is refundable minus a $350 administration fee until 15 days before we send our deposit to Canopy.

Once we pay the deposit to Canopy your deposit becomes NON-REFUNDABLE. An advisory email will be sent 18 days prior to making this payment.

For a more personal experience, we limit our trip to a maximum of 13 people, and you can see a full description of the trip with complete itinerary HERE.

Registration is currently open. Click HERE, OR Log in to your TOS account home page to sign up for this wonderful travel experience!

For the health and safety of everyone, TOS asks that participants comply with COVID-19 guidelines set by private businesses and municipal entities. You must have a US passport valid for at least 6 months after date of entry, will be required to sign a liability waiver, and will be required to purchase emergency medical travel insurance before final payment is accepted. Participants must also be able to climb three flights of stairs for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

It will be an amazing trip so, if it's been your dream to visit Panama, you won't be disappointed.
